Forge Motorsport Uprated Intercooler – VW Transporter T5 & T5.1 (FMINTVWT5)
Improve charge-air cooling and help maintain consistent engine performance with this uprated Forge Motorsport intercooler for the VW Transporter T5 and T5.1.
Designed as a direct replacement for the original intercooler, this upgraded unit works with the vehicle’s existing hoses and pipework. Therefore, no additional hose kit or major modification is required for installation.
The larger frontal area and increased core volume provide improved cooling compared with the factory intercooler. Meanwhile, the free-flowing core helps reduce restriction without introducing noticeable additional turbo lag.
During vehicle testing, the intercooler alone produced gains of up to 10 bhp and 20 lb-ft of torque. Results can vary depending on the vehicle, engine condition and supporting modifications.
This upgrade is particularly beneficial for vehicles running remapped software or a tuning box, where increased boost pressure can generate additional heat. However, it is also a worthwhile upgrade for standard vehicles used for towing, camper conversions or other demanding applications.
