Vw T5/T6 Revo Remap
How does a map work?
Modern engines are controlled by software installed on an Engine Control Unit (ECU), the ‘brains’ of the vehicle. Factory software is designed to give models consistency in performance, regardless of the country they are sold in, with power outputs segmented depending on the target customer, leaving lots of room for improvements.
All Revo performance Software is designed to safely enhance the driveability of your vehicle, giving access to more power and torque throughout the rev-range while maintaining the extensive factory safety mechanisms.
Although Revo offer some of the most substantial performance increases on the market, peak figures form part of a much bigger picture and are never the sole focus during development. Revo Software offers a perfect balance of performance, economy, longevity and safety.
Development and testing of Revo performance software is done in a number of territories around the world, taking into account variations in atmospheric conditions such as altitude and temperature. The Revo R&D process is the most extensive and in-depth in the industry, giving you a product you can trust and an experience you wont forget.
Revo Software has a race proven pedigree which speaks for itself..
Nurburgring Lap Record: VW Commercial T5 Transporter for a spin around the ‘Green Hell’ of the Nurburgring in 2013, to secure the new commercial vehicle lap record – 9 mins 57 seconds (9.22 Bridge to Gantry) – and thus dislodging Sabine Schmidt and the BBC’s TopGear team from the slot.
Skoda World Record: Working with Skoda UK, as their power train and technical adviser on the successful 2011 World Speed Record gained propelling a vRS Octavia at over 227 MPH at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.
This back ground is something no other tuner or mapper can compete with!
Revo Software and Hardware solutions work in harmony to unleash the true potential of your engine. Designed in-house using the latest technology and facilities, both the hardware and software engineers have extensive experience in their disciplines. Revo pride themselves on offering products that achieve the high performance demanded by their customers, whilst ensuring longevity and drive-ability are maintained.
Research & Development
Testing facilities at their UK Headquarters and US Development Facility, as well as a track office at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground and Virginia Point Raceway, Revo are able to test their products extensively on and off track. Testing products in this way is paramount to ensuring that along with more useable power and torque comes refined drive-ability, something often overlooked.
Testing on a dyno will only ever tell part of the story. Revo believe in data-logging on the road and racetrack as well as testing in controlled dyno conditions, to give you a clearer picture of the performance you can expect. This plays an important role in the Revo development process, ensuring the highest quality products that perform where and when it matters most.
Access to vehicles is imperative to development and testing. Revo run one of the most extensive fleets in the industry, and have access to hundreds of other beta vehicles via a global Authorised Dealer Network. These vehicles not only demonstrates what is capable using Revo products, which cover thousands of miles in a multitude of climates, but also ensures that vehicles perform in any scenario, from a trip to the local shops to an epic adventure in the Alps.
Why we love Revo and choose Revo over anything else
We love Revo because of the way in which the power is delivered, the whole idea of a re map is to increase bhp, increase torque and to improve the drive ability
On the T5.1 lower output models like the 84bhp one, its crucial to cap the torque at a lower rpm otherwise you may have issues with the flywheel and the clutch can suffer. We cap this and then hold it at the best level throughout the rev range giving a smoother power delivery rather than a load of torque at the lower end which drops right off feeling aggressive and ultimately potentially damaging transmission parts.
Because Revo have access to the FULL manufacturer standard software file which means there are more tables within those files that can be adjusted. Some tuners/mappers/file writers cannot access this. They just alter the data which is available to them which is a small proportion of the whole file.
Revo develop on the road and track for a massive amount of time rather than an hour on a dyno which isn’t real driving conditions.
